Internship:
National Park Service Research Internship

Michael Spector graduated from the University of California Santa Cruz with a degree in Marine Biology in 2012. Originally from California, Pike has spent his entire life living, working, and playing in the Pacific Ocean. While at university, Pike cultivated a passion for conservation and ecology with an emphasis in subtidal fieldwork. He continues to pursue research topics related to marine restoration. Since graduating, Pike has worked as an observer in the West Coast Groundfish Fishery and as a field technician on numerous subtidal projects. Pike is incredibly excited to be interning with the National Park Service’s Subtidal Research Center, and hopes that he will continue to expand his diving knowledge and skill set. This internship will enable him to develop the critical skills necessary to pursue a life-long career in marine ecology, conservation, and restoration.
