Dr. Jamie L. King received a Bachelor of Science Cum Laude in Biology and Geology from the University of Rochester. She additionally received a Masters of Arts - Zoology and a Ph.D. - Zoology from the University of California at Davis.
Dr. Lee H. Somers was a Founding Director of the society and upon his retirement from the board of directors several years ago, he was honored with permanent Director Emeritus status.
LeRoy combined his love for diving and designing as an underwater photographer and created oceanic exhibits in Disney’s Epcot Center as well as Hong Kong’s Ocean Park Museum. He began ice diving in 1973.
Paul was an early supporter of the Our World Underwater Scholarship Society and served several years as Chairman. He was also an avid conservationist and felt underwater photography was crucial in building awareness to preserve the world’s oceans.
