Annalise Nisly
Annalise Nisly works as a coral reef restorationist in the Florida Keys. Since graduating from Goshen College, she has been part of teams focusing on off-grid land-based nursery operations to grow coral and assist in scaling the first-ever coral reef sponge restoration program. In the last year, Annalise worked on documenting the symbiotic relationship between scleractinian corals and the symbiotic sponge Mycale laevis for the future use of out planting restoration methodology.
Starting off her diving experiences in a freshwater quarry in Ohio, Annalise later pursued her Divemaster certification in Utila, Honduras and has been able to work and dive all over the world. She hopes to leverage the AAUS Scientific Diving Certification, gained through the Dr. Lee Somers internship, to launch further into a research career in coral reef ecology and restoration.
